About Us

Phantom Creek is a 3 piece variety band based in the Columbia, SC area. Although the band recently reformed in 2018 the group has actually been around for more than 20 years.

Phantom Creek takes prides in playing a wide variety of music. You will hear everything from classic rock, 80s & 90s rock, and even some new rock. Blues, classic and new country, beach, and funk, all appears on their set lists. Go to the Songs page to see a list of all the songs they perform. Crowd pleasing is what they are best at.

 All members of Phantom Creek sing lead and backup vocals. Mike, who is an original member of the band, plays guitar and keyboards, occasionally at the same time. Alan keeps things steady behind the drums, and drives the music on. The bottom is held up by John playing the bass guitar. He also fills in with some keyboard and guitar work.

Alan - Drums

Alan hails from Orangeburg, SC, but he's originally from Wales United Kingdom. He honed his skill by playing in the house band on cruise ships. Alan's expertise puts him in high demand with many of the local bands, and he fills in whenever his schedule is clear with Phantom Creek.

John - Bass

John resides in Chapin SC. and has entertainment in his blood. At night he's out rocking with Phantom Creek, but during the day he's traveling to schools all over the east coast doing educational puppet shows. John is the executive director of the Columbia Marionette Theatre. John is also accomplished at guitar and keyboards. He also written and recorded many songs which can be found on YouTube.

Mike - Guitar/ Keyboards

Guitar and keyboards are performed by Mike. He currently resides in Lugoff, SC, but he’s originally from a small town in western New York. Mike is an award winning singer where he won the regional talent contest in New York which granted an appearance on the Nashville Network’s “Be a Star” show. He’s also an accomplished song writer, for which he has also won awards.
